Instagram Gives New Features To Control Your Data You Share With Third-party Apps

On 15th October 2019, Instagram announced a new feature. With the help of this feature, you will be able to control the personal information you share with third-parties through the Facebook-owned app.

This new feature will probably be rolled-out within the next 6 months.

To see which third-party services have access to our data then navigate to-   Setting -> Security -> Apps and Websites.

The company said in a statement "It is essential that we protect the data people share with us. We also want to give people more control over the data they share with other apps and services".

The Facebook-Owned Instagram will also roll-out an "updated authorization screen". This feature will notify you when a third-party app is requesting to use your data.

The company added "To ensure you know what specific data third parties are requesting from you, we are also introducing an updated authorization screen that lists all the information the third party is requesting to access. You'll have the option to "cancel" or "authorize" this access directly from the authorization screen".

The online-platform also rolled out a new mode with the name “Restrict” across the world. This mode will help you to stop the people who bully you through abusive comments or offensive posts.

You can restrict the third-party apps just by swiping left on a comment. This can be done through the Privacy tab present in Settings. You can also restrict directly to the profile of the account.
